WHEEL ALIGNMENT

Wheel alignment is preventive maintenance that’s mistakenly overlooked by many owners. Wheel alignment not only prevents your vehicle from pulling to one side or the other, it also significantly improves the life of your tyres, enhances braking performance and improves fuel economy. All these benefits lead to the most important result: improved safety.

Wheel alignment is part of standard maintenance which consists of adjusting the relative angles of the tyres so that they are set to the manufacturer’s optimal specification. The names of the most common alignment adjustments are camber, caster and toe.

Properly aligned tyres will track straight and true, which not only improves fuel efficiency, but also maximizes the life of the tyre, saving you money in the long run. In regards to safety, an aligned tyre will not make your vehicle pull to the right or left. Your vehicle will also drive more smoothly when properly aligned. In climate weather driving will also be significantly improved by allowing the tyres to gain maximum traction on slippery surfaces like rain.

The vast majority of vehicles on the road today need either Front Wheel Alignment or Four Wheel Alignment. Front Wheel Alignment focuses on adjusting and aligning only the two front wheels/tyres, while Four Wheel Alignment addresses the alignment of all four wheels/tyres. Most front-wheel drive (FWD) vehicles only need Front Wheel Alignment, but we at, Point-S suggest getting all four aligned, especially when purchasing new tyres. In most scenarios, a quick check of the static alignment measurements will confirm whether or not a Four Wheel Alignment is needed (We do Wheel Alignment check at no cost). Wheel Alignment is one of the many specialized services that, Point-S offer to our clients. Point-s keeping you safe on the road.

WHEEL BALANCING

A Vibration on your steering wheel could be a sign that your wheels are not balanced correctly. Everyday driving can affect the balance of your tyres and incorrect balancing not only causes vibration on the steering wheel and dashboard making it uncomfortable to drive, but also causes premature wear of tyres, rapid wear of suspension parts, affects the performance of your vehicles road holding & handling and fuel efficiency.

You may not always sense an imbalance at the steering wheel. It could be present but dampened by the vehicle weight. This is why balancing is equally important for both front and rear wheels.  Wheels are balanced on a wheel balancing machine which rotates the tyre and wheel assembly to automatically calculate the weight and location of the balance counter weight.

You should have your tyres balanced regularly, but how often it should be done depends on multiple factors including how much you drive and what condition the roads are in. Contact us today at Point – S about how frequently you should have your tyres balanced. This inexpensive regular auto maintenance can help improve the life of your tyres, as well as the rest of your vehicle. Point-s keeping you safe on the road.
